I am a Finnish woman living in Crete in Greece. Quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet and if there is still time, reading and painting, with happy company of our two sweet dogs and one cat!

  1. I feel your joy at being “home” in your pictures! Always so nice to go home and revisit familiar places with good memories. Thanks for sharing! ps: what is koskenlaskija? 🙂

    • Thank you! You felt it right – it’s great to visit the familiar places. ‘Koskenlaskija’ is fresh cheese like philadelfia and the word koskenlaskija means man who old times went down the river with the logs. x Teje

  2. Toivottavasti aurinko paistaa Kouvolassa! Marimekoissahan on nyt ystävämyynti. Fillaroin lähimpään Maroimekkoon ja mukaan tarttui useita kankaita.

  3. Lovely to see photos of our hometown – even if it might look quite grey now. Should I write in Finnish too, wasn’t sure if anyone else speaks Finnish? Mullakin aina samat kauppakassissa: Koskenlaskijaa superista eri makuvaihtoehtoina, ja toki keikka Marimekkoon (ps. ainoa sana minka mun skotti aviomies muistaa suomeks on “Marimekko”….siina hanen tarkea sanavarasto 15 vuoden jalkeen!!).

  4. The landscape is so different to Crete isn’t it Teje..and just a bit cooler too..enjoy your stay x

  5. Is the Muumin marmelade a real jam for toast in those bags, or is it a candy, or an ingredient? Wish I could read Finnish and figure it out! I love all the bright colors in the shop–must make you feel like there’s a little bit of spring in your hometown! Have a wonderful visit!

  6. Looks like you’re having a wonderful visit!!!!!

  7. I miss this. I am so glad I bought my Moomin Arabia coffee cups when I visited.
Have fun – don’t buy too much fabric.

  8. i love the mugs and things at the store; that is a happy wall!

  9. Oh I love the Moomin trolls. Too cool that they are on some strange food product.

  10. Hello again Teje, Love the Marimekko area of the shop. Lovely city view with no cars (in the main shopping area). Enjoy your friends and family……

  11. Oooh, marimekko- lovely!

  12. Kotoisalta näyttää, Teje,

Samassa postauksessa koskenlaskijat, muumit ja marimekot🙂 Ihnaa kun olet saanut kotoisat maut&näyt koettavaksi! Kunhan se aurinkokin vielä teit hellisi…

    Iloisia lomapäiviä!

    Mia
